Julia Burrer/Mariah Maloney: Intimate Works
We invite you to follow our process over the next several weeks as we prepare for our performances at the Rochester Fringe Festival. For now, please be sure to purchase a ticket. We are thrilled to be working together and to be a part of the Festival this year.
Two longtime New York City dancers/choreographers, Julia Burrer (Doug Varone and Dancers) and Mariah Maloney (Trisha Brown Dance Company), join together for the first time to share an evening of intimate works. This premiere of solo and duet work delves into each choreographer’s rich, embodied investigations. Burrer’s “angle of repose” (in collaboration with Benjamin Wolk) examines the idea of thresholds, personal edges, and physical boundaries. Maloney’s “Filter,” a highly articulate choreography, develops a conversation with JoAnne Maffia’s haunting music composition.
